Women’s Golf Opens Spring Season At Bison Invitational In Las Vegas

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s golf team escapes the Northeast chill this week, opening the 2014 spring season Monday and Tuesday in Las Vegas at the Bison Invitational. The two-day tournament, hosted by Bucknell University, will be played at Pauite Golf Resort.

The Great Danes will compete alongside the hosting Bison, Lynn University, Tennessee Tech, Idaho State, Creighton, Eastern Washington, and Long Island University.

Under the direction of head coach Colleen Cashman-McSween in her first year at the helm, UAlbany will look to build off its solid fall season. Highlights included a second-place finish at the ECAC Championship, a fifth-place finish out of 12 teams at the St. John’s Invitational, and an eighth-place finish out of 20 squads at the Rutgers Invitational.

Graduate student Sam Schuffenecker, freshman Paige Fujihara, junior Victoria Choi, senior Lisa Agoglia, and freshman Rosalee Hearns will represent UAlbany’s lineup.

Monday’s shotgun start begins at 1:15 p.m. PDT and Tuesday’s second round will start at 8:00 a.m. PDT.
