From the free food to the football tosses and photo booths, the We are UAlbany event brought many students to the podium for samplings of the Campus Center’s new food and other freebies.
The samples included food from vendors such as Uncommon Grounds, UFood Grill, and Cusato’s Pizza.
“It’s a great way to sample all the new vendors that UAlbany has to offer,” said Brittany Rivera, junior.
Students were able to leave their thumbprint on a ceramic Great Dane which will be displayed in University Hall.
There will be 19 Great Dane statues in total like this one posted up around campus. Each will be decorated with the University theme by various student organizations. The 19 statues mounted on campus will represent the university’s 19 presidents.
The most recent president to be inaugurated is Robert Jones who was inaugurated on Saturday Sept. 28. The We are UAlbany celebration was a part of the university’s “Celebrate and Advance” celebration honoring President Jones.
“I think this is a great way to promote a the great improvement UAS has made on campus,” said Cara Smith, junior.
