Unions march for annual parade

Labor unions marched in downtown Albany for the Michael Burns Labor Day parade this past Friday.
Union workers from United Steel Workers, New York State United Teachers, and Capital District Area Labor Federation were among those in attendance.
The parade began at City Hall with union members holding banners walking with color guard and a marching band behind them.
The parade concluded at Corning Preserve where food and drinks were serve. Live music followed several short speeches, including a brief statement from Mayor Kathy Sheehan.
“This is a great day for labor,” Sheehan said.
