BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – UAlbany will take its undefeated conference record to Binghamton on Monday, January 20, taking on the Bearcats for a 7 p.m. game at the BU Events Center.

The Great Danes will play their third game in five days, defending a five-game winning streak after a 84-56 home win over Maine on Saturday.  UAlbany stands in first place in the conference at 4-0 and 14-3 overall.  Binghamton is coming off a close 48-45 loss to Stony Brook for its second-straight defeat, coming in at 4-13 overall and 1-3 in the America East.

Tickets for the game are eight dollars for chairbacks and six dollars for bench general admission.  They are available online on Binghamton’s athletic site and at the gate.

All-time, UAlbany leads the overall series 25-20, but Binghamton has a slight edge in DI competition 14-13.  The Great Danes have won the last five meetings, last defeating the Bearcats in a 67-43 home win on February 2, 2013.

After scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against Maine on January 18th, Shereesha Richards earned her 11th double-double of the season to tie the UAlbany single season record for double-doubles.  Her 23.2 points a game is seven points more than second-place Sabre Proctor of Stony Brook.  Sarah Royals jumped to fourth place in the America East in scoring with 13.2 points a game, also dishing out a league-best 4.9 assists per game.  She has earned an assist in 49 consecutive games.  Margarita Rosario is second in assists with 4.1 per game and ranks in the top-three in free throw percentage (86%) and three-point field goal percentage (42.9%).

Binghamton, picked to finish eighth in the America East preseason predictions, will be completing a three-game homestand against UAlbany on Monday and is still looking for its first home victory this season.  Head coach Nicole Scholl enters year five at the helm and her 14th season with the Bearcats.  Junior forward Sherae Swinson is the team’s lone double digit scorer, leading the team in scoring and rebounding at 11 points and 5.4 rebounds a game.  Leading the Bearcats with 46 assists, senior Stephanie Jensen is also the main three-point threat at 35.4%.
