One seventh of Student Association senate voting power is up for grabs Wednesday.

Here’s what you should know:

WHAT IS THE STUDENT ASSOCIATION SENATE?

SA senators vote on funding student groups, programming such as Parkfest, Camp Dippikill, and more. Primarily divided by residence, academic field, and year, senators are intended to represent the demands of their constituents to university officials.

WHY ARE THESE SEATS OPEN?

There are a few factors here.

• Logan Losito decided to not finish his term in October after accepting an internship in Washington, D.C.
• Moises Urena resigned after taking a position in the SA executive board.
• Amanda Goldfine, the longest serving of all seven, graduated in December.
• Patrick Carroll in October resigned to become a deputy comptroller.
• The SA rules committee impeached Carlos McArthur of Alumni Quad and Katherine Dobler of Colonial Quad for unexcused absences.
