Upgrade from a dorm and live like royalty next semester, all you need is six or more figures to live like the University president. The University at Albany Foundation, who owns the home known as the president’s mansion has put the property up for sale.
The home located at 5 Englewood Place in Albany is listed at $625,000. The house has nine bedrooms, four and a half baths, a two-car garage and sits on a 1.55 acre lot.
The 6,000 square foot adobe was built in 1886 and remains furnished and accented with artwork that belongs to the university until it is sold.
The home has housed UAlbany’s President since 1990 and the last occupant was former President George Philip who moved out three months ago. President Jones does not reside in the president’s mansion. Instead, he and his wife live downtown at the luxurious 17 Chapel condos.
