Meet Results

EUGENE, Ore. – University at Albany freshman Kingsley Ogbonna was the final UAlbany athlete to compete in the outdoor track calendar season, having qualified for the USATF Junior National Championships in the high jump.  Ogbonna, who last competed at IC4A Outdoor Championships in May, hit the qualifying standard at IC4A Indoor Championships in March, clearing a height of 6’-10.25”.

In addition to the Junior National championship, a berth into the Junior World Championships was at stake for athletes who placed in the top two and hit the Junior World qualifying standard.  For the high jump, that mark was 7’-1”.  Ogbonna placed fourth overall out of seven competitors, jumping 6’-8.75”.  His performance earning him Junior National All-American honors.

Ogbonna will now return home and recuperate for the beginning of UAlbany’s indoor season, which will unofficially kick off in December, before getting into full swing in January.
