Men’s Soccer Announces Addition of Three Brazilians to 2014 Recruiting Class

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men’s soccer program unveiled Friday the addition of three players to the incoming recruiting class. Head coach Trevor Gorman announced Pedro Espindola (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Franklin Pierce), Jose Henrique (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Afonso Pinheiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) will join the previously announced recruits to form a seven-man 2014 class.

A midfielder, Espindola will have three years of eligibility, while midfielder Henrique and forward Pinheiro join the squad as freshmen.

“All three of these players bring strong qualities to our squad,” Gorman said. “We see each player fitting in to our group well, and adding to our options at the attacking end of the field.”

The Great Danes begin preseason training next week, and will open the season against Appalachian State on Aug. 29.
