Men’s Basketball Game at Stony Brook Chosen for ESPN3 Wildcard Broadcast

 AMERICA EAST RELEASE

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.- The University at Albany men’s basketball team’s final regular season game of the season at Stony Brook on March 2 has been added to the America East ESPN3 slate, the league announced on Thursday.

The game is slated to tip-off at 2 p.m., from Pritchard Gymnasium in Stony Brook, N.Y., and was chosen from a group of four potential wildcard games. UAlbany won the first meeting this season at SEFCU Arena on Jan. 29 77-67. It was the first league loss of the season for Stony Brook, and marked the first time the Great Danes have won a regular season contest at home against the Seawolves since Feb. 2, 2008.

UAlbany and Stony Brook also met in the America East semifinal last season, with the Purple & Gold pulling the 61-59 upset over the No. 1 seed at SEFCU Arena. The last time the Great Danes won at Pritchard Gym was on Jan. 17, 2011 by a score of 52-50.

With the addition of the Stony Brook game, the defending America East champion will play a total of five regular season games broadcast on ESPN3 in the 2013-14 season. The Great Danes can be seen on ESPN3 and WatchESPN in three of their last four games to conclude the conference regular season schedule.
