On Tuesday, the University at Albany Athletic Department announced sophomore wide receiver has been suspended indefinitely.

According to a statement from the athletic department, Gontarek was arrested on-campus Monday by the University Police Department for unlawful possession of marijuana and evidence tampering.

According to police records, Gontarek was arrested Monday at Noon for charges of concealing/destroying/altering physical evidence.

 

 

 

Gontarek is one of UAlbany’s top players. In four games this season, Gontarek has caught 16 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns.

Last season, Gontarek was UAlbany’s best receiver with 58 catches for 687 yards and eight touchdowns.
