Bowen To Compete In Brazil, Mexico

Ibero-American Schedule ǀ Pan Am Festival Schedule

ALBANY, N.Y. – Continuing his competition schedule for Panama’s national team, University at Albany high jumper Alexander Bowen will compete in two meets in August.  The first is the Ibero-American Championships in São Paulo, Brazil, and the second is the 2015 Pan American Games Trials, taking place in Mexico City.

The Ibero-American Championships run from August 1 through August 3 and gathers Ibero-American countries for a biannual competition.  Bowen will compete in Estádio Ícaro de Castro Melo, where the men’s high jump is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. local time on Sunday, August 3.

The trials for the 2015 Pan American Games will take place in Mexico City from through.  The Pan Am Games, a multi-sport event, are hosted every four years (always the year before the next Olympic Games) and feature competitors from countries within North and South America.  In 2015, the Games will be held in Toronto from July 10 through July 26.  Bowen will jump in Estadio de Atletismo Jesús Martínez at 5:00 p.m. local time on August 16.

Bowen has already competed for Panama’s national team this summer, placing second in Panama’s national championships, and winning the Central American Championships.
