Bowen Earns America East Field Performer Of The Week Honor

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — University at Albany men’s track and field sophomore Alexander Bowen has been named the America East Field Performer of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Bowen (Beacon, N.Y.) captured the high jump title at the UConn Dog Fight with a leap of 6′ 10.75″. With three meets in the books this spring, Bowen has placed first in every high jump competition, highlighted by his record breaking 7’3” mark at the 7th Annual Carolina Spring Break Classic in Puerto Rico (3/16). The feat ranks eighth in the nation.

Bowen and the Great Danes return to action Saturday when they compete in the UTECH Classic in Kingston, Jamaica. UAlbany will also be competing in the April Invitational at RPI.
