Baseball Holds Successful First Alumni Game

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany baseball program held its first annual Alumni Game Saturday, Sept. 21st   in conjunction with the athletic department’s Hall of Fame weekend.

“We had a great turnout of alums and supporters,” said head coach Jon Mueller. “I hope that we can make it a successful event year after year.”

With the stands filled with family and friends and nearly 40 alums in attendance at Varsity Field, the former players laced up their cleats and took on the current Great Dane squad in a competitive seven-inning contest.

In the end, the 2013-14 UAlbany Great Danes came away with a 5-3 victory. Following the clash, the squads united with a postgame tailgate leading up to the football program’s  contest at Bob Ford Field.
