All That Jazz: University Ensemble Puts on Show at PAC
On Monday, Nov. 16 at 7 pm, the University at Albany Jazz Ensemble put on a performance in recital hall in the Performing Arts Center, with David Hosley conducting. According to his faculty page, Hosley has conducted the Ensemble for the past twenty years and also gives trumpet lessons at the university. According to a press release, the ensemble is a 21-member big band composed of university and community musicians that perform jazz music from the 19140s to the sounds of today. Some of music played included Count Basie, Jeff Tyzik, and Tower of Power. The featured soloists were Kevin Griffen, Chris Cardinale, Steve Russo, Chris Simmons, Tony Leonardi, and Marty Manjak.
